Seven snaps for seven days - thirty four

An attractive upside to the bad weather - rain drops caught among the leaves of a plant.

Resorting to hot chocolate to warm up! Had to have cream and marshmallows!

Going through my vintage buttons to find the perfect ones for my new cardigan.

Stitching the button band on to my new cardigan, knitted from a 1950's pattern.

Grasses at sunset.

A weekend of family celebrations for my niece's first birthday.

A fly past by two Lancaster bombers at the dedication celebration of a new memorial at a World War Two airfield in Lincolnshire.

  1. Oooohh, hot chocolate!!! I haven't thought about that scrumptious drink in any real capacity for many months now. We had a cold snap here last week that would have justified one on this end as well (in so much as hot cocoa ever need justification ;)), but I was so stunned by it that I just kept thinking how I didn't want to wave good bye to summer and its tasty seasonal treats yet. Thankfully the sun did return come the weekend (phew!), but I highly suspect we're in for an early fall and that hot cocoa will soon be in frequent rotation here as well.

Lovely photos, sweet Kate. Your vintage button collection is beautiful!!!

  2. Hoorah for the completion of the cardigan! You've got a nice selection of buttons there - which did you go for in the end?

    1. I bought the yarn purely because of the colour. It has been in my stash waiting for a suitable project. I always keep my eye out for buttons in charity shops etc, a collection builds up quite quickly!

  4. Yay Lancasters! They are from Canada and one Is stationed 45 mins from my home. Every year we have a big band dance at the hanger and we dance under the Lancasters wing. So cool! So cool that you saw them fly, I have not seen that yet.

    1. I do hope you get to see the Lancasters Lucy, it was a really special sight. I need to find more wool of a similar colour now that I have used that one!
